Vision - by R. Clyde Ericson (Competition Entry)

Vision

How do I know what I claim to see is real
Delusional, a word that my extended so called family
Would have you believe

But who is sleeping and who is awake
Would be the provision
And stance to take

They say it is I, that am blind
Even trying to have the court
See it their way

All I can say are things like this.
Society is many things
And many amiss.
One thing it is not
And not just folly of youth.
Many things it is
but it is NOT the Truth

So as they slumber comfortably in society’s Grand Illusion
And Blind, Sleeping, Lie of an Eye
And in my life make their bold intrusion
For I have vision
And that is not a Lie
