1st December 2013 Update

Sunday 1st December 2013

Welcome to December in the garden everyone. It is the season of good will and peace on Earth aPreviewnd ringing in change and all those lovely positives. There are many different celebrations at this time of the year so whatever way you are celebrating, feel free to share with your friends in the garden. Remember poetry, prose, images, videos, anything you would like to share will be welcome offerings for the well.

I will be having a countdown to Christmas as that is how I celebrate with my daughters. I may have Jewish blood but I haven’t been brought up with the traditions, so I will be decorating the old tree and hanging mistletoe etc. However we will light some candles for Hanukkah and my Mother’s overiding memory of Hanukkah in the Jewish Children’s Home that she was brought up in was that the children had lots of different outings at this time of the year – the theatre, cinema etc. so I suppose the Pantomime will be calling us or maybe the ballet. So let the countdown begin…

My pathetic attempt at writing a novel in a month for NaNoWriMo didn’t quite work – I was supposed to write 50,000 words for the challenge – I managed 16535 words – not bad for a first attempt even if I do say so myself. I will be finishing this novel but I’m not going to kill myself trying now LOL. If you would like to have a look at the story so far, I am sharing it with the world on Wattpad http://www.wattpad.com/story/9463662-the-birth-mark-nanowrimo-2013
